Research Assistant (Solid-state battery: ceramic-polymer composite and nanofiber synthesis)
University-Level Unit: College of Design and Engineering
Faculty/Department-Level Unit: Mechanical Engineering

Job Description
• Synthesize 3D nanofiber networks using electrospinning technology.
• Fabricate ultrathin, lightweight ceramic-in-polymer composite membranes for high-performance solid-state batteries.
• Synthesis and characterization of composite cathodes for Li-ion batteries.
• Characterize and optimize the freestanding membrane-based electrolytes specifically for Li-ion battery applications.
• Fabricate coin cells for Lithium-ion batteries using both liquid and solid electrolytes.
• Assembly and electrochemical characterization of pouch cell prototype.
• Analyze cell failure mechanisms and perform root cause analysis. Develop mitigation plans to ensure long-term battery stability and performance.

Qualifications
• B.S. or M.S. in the area of electrochemistry, nanotechnology and materials science.
• Minimum 1 year experience in lithium batteries.
• Experience in fabrication of Li-based batteries in coin cell and pouch cell level.
• In-depth knowledge in electrochemistry, electrochemical techniques (CV, LSV, EIS etc), batteries and polymer electrolytes.
• Experience in synthesis nanomaterials and nanocomposites for designing cathodes for Li batteries.
• Good knowledge in nanotechnology, nanocomposites, materials science are also desired.
• Experience in handling analytical instruments (e.g. SEM, STEM, XRD, TGA, Raman, IR, XPS, Viscometer etc.)

본 포지션은 Research Assistant (RA) 단독 직무로 지원 및 근무가 가능합니다. 박사과정 등록은 필수 사항이 아닙니다.
다만, 연구 역량과 관심이 충분한 경우, 근무 기간 중 또는 이후에 NUS 박사과정(PhD) 진학 기회를 논의할 수 있으며, RA와 박사과정을 연계하여 진행하는 것도 가능합니다.
