A BS in molecular biology, physiology, animal sciences, veterinary sciences, or a related field is required. A MS degree is highly preferred for the PhD candidate position. Candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills. A desire to work individually, or in dynamic multi-disciplinary groups is also required. Experience with data analysis techniques and programs is preferred but not required.

Baseline Requirements:
Minimum Undergraduate GPA: 3.0
Combined GRE score (optional for Spring/Fall 2022): 300
Minimum TOEFL score (for international applicants): 100

International Teaching Assistants (ITAs) who are non-native speakers of English are required to undergo an evaluation of their spoken English abilities by the Maryland English Institute. To be exempt from testing, the ITA must have achieved a score of 26 or higher on the speaking sub-section of the TOEFL, or a score of 8.0 or higher on the speaking sub-section of the IELTS.

Assistantships provide students with a stipend, tuition remission for up to 10 credit hours per semester, and health insurance benefits.
