Computer Vision for Smart Structure Laboratory (https://cviss.net) in Civil and Environment Engineering at the University of Waterloo, led by Dr. Chul Min Yeum, is accepting applications for co-op students or graduate study (MSc, Ph.D.) in the areas of intelligent infrastructure. Intelligent infrastructure is embedding intelligence into the physical built environment for the purpose of creating safer and more resilient infrastructure.

연구실 지원 방법

All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply for this position. The candidates should send a detailed CV to Dr. Yeum (cmyeum@uwaterloo.ca) with the email subject “Position Application”. Dr. Yeum will review the applications immediately and the review will continue until the positions are filled. A successful candidate can join the program right away (either Winter 2023, Spring 2023, Fall 2023).
자격 조건

Requirements
• An undergraduate, MASc, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or System Engineering.
• Strong development skills in ROS, Python, C++, or/and C#.
• Knowledge in computer vision (e.g., Multiview geometry, SLAM), image recognition (e.g., DNN), and/or robotics (e.g., sensor fusion, mobile robotics).
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate daily.

Preferred Qualifications
• Track record of publications in the areas of computer vision, image processing, and structural health monitoring
• Knowledge and skills in applying cutting-edge sensor and hardware technology (e.g., LDAR, Time-of-flight, AR headset).
• Hardware and software integration for vision sensing (e.g., camera, lidar) and localization and mapping
• Robotics simulators (e.g., Gazebo)
• Experience and skills in Unity (Unreal) development for AR, VR, and Mixed Reality
